I love summer professional development!! I teamed up with Harlingen CISD librarian Vilia Garcia to create an awesome Maker Lab for Region One's Secondary Librarian's Toolbox workshop. Makers left with some awesome resources and even a digital badge to recognize their maker efforts! Way to go, RGV Librarians!!
I love MackinVia so much I had to share with other librarians across the valley the benefits of creating a digital presence in the library. Online content is often ignored because of its lack of physical presence, however, with the right tools and some creativity you can transform your library to include a digital collection just as present as your physical collections! So, I finally did it! I conquered one of my greatest fears and actually presented in front of REAL people. So excited that Region One's Library Services allowed me to participate as a book talk presenter! Titles included Amina's Voice and Spirit Hunters, both on the Texas Bluebonnet List. You can access the presentation by clicking the link below if you'd like more information.
